Post 197 Jacksonville, Florida About This Post What Makes this Post Unique American Legion Post 197 in Jacksonville, Florida was chartered on April 10, 1947 under the jurisdiction of the former 11th District of the American Legion, Department of Florida.  The first Post Commander was Dr. J.E. Bush.  American Legion Post 197 is the largest African American Post in the state of Florida with over 400 members.
